COMMERCIAL OBJECTIVE

We were commissioned by the client, An Post to design a stamp to mark the bicentenary of Louis Braille’s birth.

DESIGN OBJECTIVE

To design a stamp that would be accessible and visually appealing, using clear-print guidelines and Braille. The use of braille was particularly important.

DESIGN THEME

To reflect the work of Louis Braille both through the use of Braille and the notion of sight itself. We worked closely with the National Council of the Blind to ensure that the right message was conveyed.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The main audience for the stamp are members of the public but we hoped the design would also appeal to stamp collectors.
